Tahosa High Adventure Base is warming up for its  two ice fishing events. Come catch feisty brook trout in the pristine mountain lake, set in the backdrop of snow-shrouded mountains and forests.

“Tahosa on Ice” dates are February 1st and March 7th, and both events feature professional help from regionally famous hunting and fishing guide, Austin Parr. Bait will be provided by sponsor, Discount Fishing Tackle. The fee is $5.00 per person and Scouter families can bring their own gear or rent rigs for $5.00.  While catch-and-release practices will largely be in effect, with fishermen keeping one for the frying pan and the possibility of catching several fish is likely. At last year’s Venturing Snow Snake, more than 225 feisty brook trout saw the dry side of the ice.

We strongly recommend dark glasses for glare and footwear for snowy, icy conditions. Gloves made for fishing and towel or rag to dry your hands are helpful as well.  Scouts who take home a fish should bring a ½ gallon ziplock bag.

Contact the Camping Department at 720.266.2111 to make a reservation to camp overnight.
